Spain has been a popular vacation destination for many years. The Spanish mainland (the Iberian Peninsula) attracts vacationers to the Costa del Sol or Costa del la Luz on the Mediterranean Sea. The cities of Barcelona and Madrid on the mainland offer Spanish lifestyle and culture.
The Balearic Islands are another popular tourist destination in Spain, Majorca and Minorca being the larger and Ibiza and Formentera the smaller islands.
