Around 350 km of marked hiking paths – from family-friendly to alpine – lead out to pristine high country, imposing glacial regions, and paths once traveled by gold miners of bygone days. Modern worlds of wellbeing and wellness were created, conjuring up renewed vigor and vitality in every season, and wonderfully supplemented by an array of sporting activities.

Four ski areas with a total of 220 km of slopes await skiers, snowboarders, and carvers. Off-slope, too, the Gastein Valley offers plenty of variety, such as healthy cross-country skiing, romantic sleigh rides, fun toboggan outings, romantic winter hikes, and snowshoeing. The healing effects of Gastein’s hot springs have been known for centuries. From 17 springs, one million liters of water flows daily into the Felsentherme spa resort, whilst the Alpentherme is among the most modern alpine recreational and health facilities in Europe.
